Sharjah: Five people, including two children, died after a fire broke out in their apartment in Sharjah early this morning at 3 am.
Initial investigation revealed that the two toddlers passed away due to suffocation after inhaling the smoke.
The fire broke out in the first-floor apartment in Al Butaina on Monday morning.
The civil defence evacuated the other tenants of the building, said Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director of the Sharjah Civil Defence.
He confirmed the death toll on the account of Sharjah Government’s twitter account 'Sharjah 24.'
