YOUSUF Falah scored the overall daily high series late on Wednesday night as the Godfathers Tournament heads into its knockout stage with the final set for tomorrow at Funland Centre.
Falah posted an impressive 776 pins, which was his second-best of the competition so far. His two other top scores were 814 and 738 to make for a 258.7 average and 2,328 aggregate.
With this fine performance, Falah solidified his position at the top of Group ‘A’ and is likely to enter the knockout rounds as the top qualifier.
Emerson Gotencio (250.7, 2,256, 758, 749, 749) and Yousif Al Dolijan (244.9, 2,204, 784, 715, 705) are second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, Isa Khalid registered the day’s high of 685 in Group ‘B’ while Leah Siruno was the top performer in Group ‘C’ with a 645 total.
Khalid’s score was his second best of the tournament. It added to his other series of 707 and 680 to make for a 230.2 average and a 2,072 aggregate. He moves to fourth place while Abdulrahman bin Abdulla (241, 2,169, 749, 720, 700) stays at the top.
Essa Taqiwas (234.8, 2,113, 729, 712, 672) is second and Ali Abdulla (231.3, 2,082, 715, 692, 675) third.
In Group ‘C’, Siruno posted her best score so far to add to her other two efforts of 629 and 608 for a 209.1 average and a 1,882 aggregate. She moves to fifth in her group.
The top three remains unchanged with Siddiq Siddiq (235, 2,115, 736, 703, 676) right at the top and followed by Sami Saloom (213.1, 1,918, 642, 640, 636) and Mohammed Daraj (211.1, 1,900, 650, 633, 617) in second and third places respectively.
The tournament is being held in honour of the late Murtadha Qudrat Rasti and the late Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The qualification round concluded last night and the knockouts take place over the weekend.
The first and second-ranked bowler from each group advance directly to round three while those ranked third through 12th move to round two.
A total prize purse of $4,500 is up for grabs with $3,200 going to the champion.
