Barbar will take on hosts Kuwait Club today at 6.15pm at the start of the 21st Asian Handball Clubs Championship, being held in Kuwait.
Barbar will compete in Group ‘C along with Kuwait, India Club, and Al Karkh of Iraq.
The top two teams from the four groups will qualify for the main round of the championship.
All eight qualifiers will play against each other, and the top four teams will qualify for the semi-final, which will be played in a knockout rules.
Barbar completed their preparations for the opening match with a training session held last night, led by national coach Sayed Ali Al Falahi.
Barbar will be led by team captain Jaffar Abdulqader along with his brother Mahmood, Mohammed Habeeb and Isa Al Bannai.
