National Award-winning Malayalam actor Salim Kumar passed away in Kochi on Saturday (June 6), at the age of 56, following health complications.
Beginning his career as a mimicry artist and theatre performer, Salim Kumar went on to become one of Malayalam cinema's most versatile talents, appearing in over 300 films.
While he first won audiences with his comic roles, he earned critical acclaim for dramatic performances, most notably in Adaminte Makan Abu (2011), which won him the National Film Award for Best Actor.
He is survived by his wife, Sunitha, and their two children.
