MANAMA: Batelco has launched its Uptime Institute certified tier III data centre.
The ICT services provider said in a statement that the launch was in line with plans to provide latest technologies and smart digital solutions for customers while supporting the digital economy in line with Vision 2030.
According to the Uptime Institute, a tier III data centre is a location with redundant and dual-powered servers, storage, network links and other IT components.
Tier III and tier IV site infrastructure solutions also have an effective life beyond the current IT requirement and are typically utilised by organisations that know the cost of a disruption – in terms of actual dollars – and the impact to market share and continued mission imperatives, the institute says on its website.
The launch was celebrated during a gala dinner held at Wyndham Grand Hotel in the presence of Batelco chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, board members, executives, government officials and business leaders.
