Riyadh: The Saudi Embassy warned against Haj visa scam targeting Egyptians planning to perform their pilgrimage this year.
"Unlicensed tourism companies are issuing fake visas to cheat on Egyptian citizens during the Haj season”, said the embassy in a statement.
It warned that Egyptians holding fake Haj visas would be banned from entering Saudi Arabia, reported Sabq.
The embassy called on Egyptian citizens to deal only with accredited companies and officials through official channels, within the framework of coordination between the Saudi and Egyptian governments.
In this same line, the Saudi authorities denied entry to 300 Egyptian pilgrims holders of fake Haj visas.
The Egyptian authorities launched an investigation into companies working in the field of religious tourism for cheating on pilgrims and conning them of their money.
