The all-new Toyota Fortuner was launched on Saturday at the Toyoto showroom in Sitra.
It was attended by Lexus and Toyota executive sales manager Ismail Akbar, Ebrahim K Kanoo top management and Toyota officials.
The new Fortuner is a second generation model which builds on its heritage of being a durable sport utility vehicle (SUV) with off-road capabilities.
“Our development concept was to build a true SUV that has style and confidence,” said Fortuner chief executive engineer Hiroki Nakajima.
“To ensure peace of mind for our customers, we developed a new stronger frame which enables the vehicle to withstand rough road conditions, in addition to an improved four-link suspension system for a more comfortable drive.”
Toyota Motor Corporation Middle East and North Africa chief representative Takayuki Yoshitsugu said that the new Fortuner is “completely redesigned”.
“It enhances driving confidence on every level while setting a new standard for SUVs all around the world,” he said. Starting price for the car is BD10,500.
