A second Bahraini has tested positive for the Covid-19, the Health Ministry has announced.
The Bahraini woman was diagnosed following her return from Iran via a flight from Dubai.
"This additional case has raised the number of confirmed cases in Bahrain to two," said the Health Ministry on its official Twitter account tonight.
"All measures are underway to test all patients coming from infected countries and they are immediately taken for treatment as soon as symptoms of the virus are identified and are confirmed through laboratory tests conducted at the Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Health Centre in Salmaniya.
"The female Bahraini citizen has arrived in Bahrain after a visit to Iran with her husband and sister-in-law who accompanied her on the trip.
"The accompanying visitors were also moved to isolation as a precautionary measure after confirmation that they weren't infected."
The GDN reported earlier in the day on a Bahraini man who became the first confirmed case of Coronavirus in the country.
The school bus driver had returned from Iran, via Dubai, and is in isolation and receiving treatment.
