Fourteen pharmacies have been warned after increasing face mask prices following a surge in demand.
Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Al Zayani said that a ministerial edict determining the maximum price for face masks has been issued on Tuesday (February 25).
"There is great demand for masks due to the tragedy that has hit countries but cheating consumers is unacceptable," he said in parliament's session.
"We have warned 14 violating pharmacies and issued an edict determining the maximum pricing."
