Riyadh: A 16-year-old Saudi boy made headlines as he married his 15-year-old cousin in the city of Tabuk.
News, photos and video recordings went viral online with Mohammed bin Al-Qaisi becoming the youngest ever bridegroom to marry in Saudi Arabia.
His father said that he encouraged his son to marry early in his life, saying that his bride, although still young, will assume her responsibilities.
“I myself got married at the age of 17, but that did not prevent me from completing my studies and getting a job”, Arabic daily Okaz quoted the father as saying.
He wished the bride and groom a happy married life.
