MANAMA: Efforts are underway to convince Khalid Almoayed to go back on his decision to step down as Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman and attend today’s board meeting. If this happens, chosen members of the executive bureau will keep their posts, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
The list includes Khalid Almoayed as chairman, vice-chairman Khalid Al Zayani, second vice-chairman Abdulhameed Al Kooheji, treasurer Isa Abdulraheem, and vice-treasurer Mohammed Sajid in addition to members Abdul Hakeem Al Shemmeri and Ahmed bin Hindi.
However, should Mr Almoayed insist on stepping down, his resignation will be accepted and Mr Al Zayani will take over as chairman. Adel Al A’ali will be elected unopposed as first vice-chairman, while other members will maintain their positions. If Mr Al A’ali declines, other options will be considered.
