Riyadh: The Ministry of Education has suspended work at school in the city of Riyadh and the neighbouring governorates due to the torrential rain, which hit the Saudi capital and other provinces of the country.
The decision to shut down schools for today was based on the report of the General Presidency for Meteorology and Environment Protection, which forecast unstable weather and heavy rain.
The universities of Imam Mohammed bin Saud, King Saud and Princess Noora in Riyadh will also be shut down. Other governorates of Saudi Arabia have also taken a similar decision for the safety of students.
