SEVEN feature races are on the cards today at the horse racing in Sakhir with the race for the Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses carrying the richest prize of BD12,000.
This race to be run over 1,600 metres, starting at 5.30pm, has attracted 15 horses. But Vale Do Sol, owned by Fawzi Abdulla Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and to be ridden by Husain Makki, is tipped to win this race.
Pleasure Bent and Chopin are the second and third favourites respectively.
Caped Crusader, owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Tristan Normand, is tipped to win the Shaikh Isa bin Faisal Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred horses which carries a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres straight, starting at 5.05pm.
Penelope Pitstop and Ghafiya are the second and third favourites respectively.
The race for the Zaid bin Theeb Kobra Group Industry and Trade Cup for locally bred horses, which carries a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,800 metres, starting at 4.40pm, has attracted the smallest field of five horses.
Methary, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Alberto Sanna, looks in best shape to win this race ahead of its nearest challengers Harash and Knight And Day.
The race for the Late Yousif Rashid Bouresli Memorial Cup, which carries a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres, starting at 4.15pm, has attracted the biggest field of 21 horses.
Expected
But Equivalent, owned by Naser Ali Naser Almoamen, trained by Osama Hashim and to be ridden by S Sanders, is expected to win this race.
Among Equals and Dream Approval are the second and third favourites respectively.
GenI Am, owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and to be ridden by Ali Hasan, is the favourite to win the Bahrain and Kuwait Bank Cup which carries a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 2,000 metres, starting at 3.50pm.
Crown of Aragon and Allergic Reaction are the second and third favourites respectively.
Al Krush 1614, owned by Al Roudha, trained by Fawzi Nass and to be ridden by Husain Makki, is the favourite to win the Bahrain and Kuwait Bank Cup for Arabian horses which carries a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres straight, starting at 3.25pm.
Kuheilan Al Adiyat 1623 and Al Rabda 1605 are the second and third favourites respectively.
The day kicks off at 3pm with the race for the Bahrain and Kuwait Bank Cup for locally bred horses which carries a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,600 metres.
Zalazel, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Alberto Sanna, is the best bet to win this race.
Retort and Wassel are expected to give the favourite a run for its money.
