Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) today (Friday) celebrates the naming of its two vessels ' Al Mubashir' and ' Al Nasir', which are part of 'The Sea of Oman' project.
The celebration which will be held under the auspices of Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al- Raisi, Commander of the RNO at Berth City of Australia, will be attended by a number of RNO officers, officials from the Office of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, the shipbuilding company Austal and Omani students in Australia.
The two advanced vessels will enhance the roles of the RNO in protecting the Omani seas and preventing the environmental and other security risks they may face. They will also provide support to other SAF and various military and security apparatuses in the Sultanate.
