Bahrain: Parliament yesterday filed four complaints with the Public Prosecution to take legal action against online smear campaigns targeting parliament and MPs.
A top official told the GDN that the cases were related to insults and foul language directed towards parliament and has nothing to do with the Press.
“These defamation cases have nothing to do with journalists; they are of individuals posting insults and foul language against our establishment and several MPs,” he said.
This brings the total number of cases referred to 12 since the beginning of the year.
