Bahrain: Police have arrested a number of suspects in connection with a petrol bomb attack on Saturday in which a policeman was killed and two others were injured.
Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired a meeting yesterday of senior officers to discuss the security situation and results of the investigation into the terrorist attack in Karbabad village.
“The case has so far resulted in the arrest of a number of suspects,” stated the ministry.
The minister stressed that “anyone who incites violence will be held accountable by law.”
He also blamed incitement at home and abroad for the latest attack. “The most recent terrorist attack in Karbabad was the result of incitement from both inside and
outside of Bahrain,” he said, cautioning parents to protect their children from online incitement.
He added police were legally authorised to use force against anyone who jeopardises the lives of officers or the security of the nation.
