Fursan Travel, a leading travel company based in Saudi Arabia, has appointed Berthold Trenkel as its chief executive officer.
Trenkel joins Fursan Travel from Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), a leading international travel management company, where he served as executive vice president Traveler Services and member of the executive team. He spent the last seven years running CWT’s global operations with over 14,000 employees being based out of Singapore and Paris, and before that was responsible for CWT’s Asia Pacific region for over four years.
Prior to his time with CWT, he was a partner at top management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, based out of Seoul, South Korea and Stuttgart, Germany where he worked for 11 years serving clients on strategic and operational issues across a multitude of sectors ranging from airlines, petro chemicals to telecommunications and travel & logistics.
A German national, he holds a Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering and in Business Administration from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
