Manama: Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has appointed Nada Ishaq Abdul Karim as executive secretary to the board of directors.
The appointment of the first Bahraini woman in this position, since the bank’s inception, comes within strategic plans aimed at nurturing Bahraini personnel and qualifying them to fill senior administrative positions.
Chief executive Hassan Jarrar said Ms Abdul Karim was appointed based on her academic qualifications and practical experience of 16 years, during which she held administrative positions related to banking and business.
He added that the move was part of the bank’s continuous support for qualified Bahraini women and based on the importance it lays on investing in employees and in developing their talents, skills and capabilities.
“It will also encourage Bahraini personnel and is an implementation of the Ishraq Initiative - Back to Basics,” he said.
