The Jaffari Endowments Directorate has announced precautionary measures for worshippers celebrating the Night of Power (Laylat Al Qadr ), during the last 10 days of Ramadan.
The move is in compliance with the health protocols and mandatory precautionary measures set by the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19.
The directorate stressed the necessity of restricting attendance at mosques and community centres (ma’atams) to men only who have been vaccinated (14 days post second dose).
“Attendance should not exceed 30 per cent of the capacity of the mosque or ma’atams,” it said in a statement yesterday, urging the elderly (60 years and above) and those with chronic diseases to stay at home.
It also stressed the need to adhere to wearing masks and leave a distance of two metres between the attendees under the supervision of curators in mosques and funeral departments.
