MANAMA: Inspections in the Northern Governorate have resulted in a number of illegal expatriate workers being deported, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) revealed last night.
The violators were arrested during a clampdown conducted by LMRA in co-operation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and Northern Governorate Police, which aimed to ensure expatriate workers comply with local regulations and law.
LMRA also announced that it would step up inspections in co-operation with the Interior Ministry, and continue to check businesses countrywide to crack down on “any illegal practices which are detrimental to the labour market.”
