SEVENTY people walked in solidarity to raise awareness about breast cancer and domestic violence, as part of the ‘Pink ‘n’ Purple Walk, organised by Women Across.
Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava’s wife Monika Srivastava as well as humanitarian and economist Dr Hana Kanoo were guests of honour at the walk, held at Kanoo Garden, Gufool.
Attendees also included Khalil Bin Ebrahim Kanoo director Lubna Kanoo, humanitarian and charity activist Rabab Shamsan, Indian Ladies Association president Nisha Ranga, Art of Living regional head Geethanjali Engineer, Migrant Workers Protection Society member Hana Buhijji and Chartered Accountant Society vice chairwoman Sharmila Shet.
The Women Across team was 'overjoyed at the turnout and the positive feedback and hopes to keep the momentum going as the organisation continues its ongoing initiatives, including a community pantry and several programmes to support women in need.'
