Singing sensation Rashed Al Majed wowed the crowds as he performed at the newly opened Al Dana Amphitheatre last night, reports Mohammed Al A’ali.
Members of the audience sang along as he performed hits including Khid Rahatik Take Comfort, Enta Ghair You Are Different, Walhan Mad in Love and Ebashir Glad.
The popular Bahraini-Saudi entertainer was joined by renowned musician Walid Fayed, who led the support band.
“I am happy to be back, everyone is happy we are back, it has been a long time,” said Mr Al Majed following his opening song.
“A big salute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for this beautiful venue and I am very happy to perform on its inauguration.
“Having people from all across The Gulf come to the concert is a proud moment. It shows that we are one.”
Mr Al Majed was born in Bahrain on July 27, 1969, and spent much of his formative years in neighbouring Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He has released more than 40 albums, 800 songs and 32 video clips, in addition to appearing at numerous musical festivals.
