A FAKE plastic surgeon, who is serving six months in jail for operating on patients without a licence, has been ordered to pay BD2,000 to the clinic he worked for, a court heard.
The Kazakhstani, aged 35, had initially filed a case at the High Civil Court last month demanding BD1,700 for unpaid wages.
However, lawyer Zaheda Hamza, representing the clinic, then filed a case against the surgeon for practising medicine without a licence at the same court.
Jailed
The court ruled in the clinic’s favour and ordered the payment.
“The surgeon had his initial case kicked out because he had performed plastic surgeries without a licence,” read the court ruling yesterday.
“He had asked for BD1,700 for not receiving his salary. However, he did not perform these surgeries within the law. Therefore, he will pay BD2,000 in compensation to the private clinic.”
The man was jailed earlier by the Lower Criminal Court after it was found that he had tricked the clinic into giving him a job and investigations later revealed he didn’t have the required qualifications.
