Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will arrive in Bahrain today on an official visit at the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad.
The Royal Court said yesterday that the two leaders will discuss bilateral relations, in addition to latest regional and international developments.
President Bolsonaro is also visiting the UAE and Qatar as part of a regional tour.
The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier said the visit highlights the importance Brazil attaches to ties with the Gulf and other Arab nations.
The visiting leader will aim during the visit to woo investments to Brazil and exchange views with leaders on the post-pandemic world and the UN Security Council, in which Brazil and the UAE take seats as non-permanent members in January.
A Bahraini-Brazilian Forum will be held today, in the presence of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) chairman Sameer Nass – who also chairs the Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce (FGCCC) – and the Brazilian delegation.
Organised by the BCCI, the forum aims to promote economic and trade relations between both countries and explore new investment opportunities in various sectors.
A memorandum of understanding will be signed by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and FGCCC drawing the framework for trade and investment co-operation.
