Bahrain’s historic ties with Saudi Arabia stem from a common destiny, His Majesty King Hamad has said.
He described relations between the two countries as a model of ties between brothers, based on strong bonds of fraternity, co-operation, understanding and co-ordination regarding all issues.
The King made the remarks as he held official talks with Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was present.
The Saudi Crown Prince conveyed to the King greetings from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
His Majesty also extended sincere greetings to King Salman, wishing him good health and well-being and the Saudi people further progress and prosperity.
The leaders reviewed relations, as well as areas of co-operation to achieve common aspirations.
The King commended Saudi Arabia’s honourable stances in support of Bahrain and its people. He reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia against all that targets its sovereignty, standing, security and stability.
Bahrain will always stand united with Saudi Arabia, he said.
His Majesty praised Saudi efforts, led by King Salman, to strengthen common Gulf work, deepen co-operation, and support security and peace in the region. He highlighted the Saudi drive to protect the interests of countries and peoples and defend their just causes amid different challenges. He also praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s pivotal role in spearheading his country’s wide-ranging development.
The leaders discussed regional and international developments, as well as issues of common interest.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed his country’s pride in its deep-rooted relations with Bahrain and praised the honourable stances taken by Bahrain, led by His Majesty.
He praised Bahrain’s landmark development and outstanding successes across all fields, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect the kingdom, its leadership and people and bless them with security, progress and prosperity.
The King hosted a dinner banquet in honour of Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his delegation.
Earlier, His Majesty was at the forefront of well-wishers who welcomed the Saudi Crown Prince on his arrival in Bahrain on an official visit, as part of a regional tour.
HRH Prince Salman also welcomed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at Sakhir Airbase.
