SCATTERED rains across the kingdom last night resulted in slightly gridlocked roads, even as many enjoyed the showers.
The Arabic Twitter hashtag ‘Sawt Al Matar’ which translates to sound of rain quickly became one of the trending topics in Bahrain as people posted videos of waiting in traffic with rain-speckled windshields.
“It was a pleasant surprise given how little rain we’ve had over the past two years,” said Mohammed Farija, 29, who lives in Hamad Town.
“It was a gentle and short lived shower but a good reminder of the blessings rain gives us.”
