Abu Dhabi: Seven people were killed and 13 others injured in an accident on the Emirates Road in Dubai.
The accident occurred when a mini-bus, which was carrying 20 people, collided with a heavy truck laden with stones near the Al-Maktoum Airport in Jabel Ali.
The driver of the mini-bus lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a truck which was involved in another pile-up accident, reported local Arabic daily Al-Ittihad.
The rescue units had to cut open parts of the vehicles to pull out the bodies from the wreckage.
The injured passengers were taken to a hospital for first aid and treatment.
Emirates Road has been listed as the second most dangerous road in Dubai witnessing fatal accidents. There were nine accidents involving deaths on Emirates Road in the second quarter of 2016 compared to none last year.
