CYCLING – Bahrain Victorious Development Team rider Thomas Capra stepped onto the podium yesterday in the GP Kranj elite men’s road race in Slovenia.
Capra, from Italy, finished the 158.6-kilometre distance in second overall following a bunch sprint to the finish, led by winner Jose Juan Prieto of Petrolike.
They registered a finishing time of three hours 26 minutes and one second – a mark shared by the race’s leading 17 competitors. Riley Pickrell of IPTA team joined Capra and Prieto on the podium.
Amongst the other Bahrain Victorious Development Team members, Italian Marco Andreaus ranked 15th, also as part of the leading group, while countrymen Elia Andreaus and Bryan Olivo were 27th and 38th, respectively.
Kasper Borremans from Finland came 42nd, while the pair of Belgian Nolan Huysmans and Bahraini Ahmed Naser did not finish.
