THREE men being held in custody for alleged illegal gathering and arson were not brought to court for a hearing yesterday as they had come in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.
The Bahraini defendants appeared in court for the first time last month after they were charged with the alleged crimes which took place on Avenue 1 in Sitra the same month.
They are accused of setting alight tyres and a garbage bin along with other debris.
The men – aged 19, 20 and 25 – denied the charges.
However, the youngest co-defendant reportedly came in close contact with an active Covid-19 case and is currently in quarantine.
The hearing was adjourned to Sunday.
