BAHRAIN’S Education Ministry has won a top regional award for its educational portal.
The portal, eduNET, won the Shaikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Award in Kuwait.
Speaking at the awards presentation ceremony at Bayan Palace in Kuwait City yesterday, Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi praised the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the education sector in the kingdom.
This has enabled the ministry to attain numerous regional and international achievements, he said.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Amir of Kuwait, Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and was attended by Kuwaiti Crown Prince Shaikh Mishal Al Ahamd Al Jaber Al Sabah.
The minister said the award is the fruitful outcome of the King Hamad Schools of the Future Project and the Digital Empowerment Project, both implemented following the King’s directives.
Dr Al Nuaimi underlined the advanced level of the Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations, thanks to the directives of their leaderships.
He said the award recognises the great role played by eduNET, since its launch in 2015, in providing diverse educational materials, adding that it has contributed to providing online education to students during the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The minister thanked Kuwait and the awards officials.
