Abu Dhabi: A UAE-based came to the rescue of a woman who gave birth to a baby aboard a plane at an altitude of 36,000 feet.
The woman was among passengers travelling from Dubai to Manila when she went into labour.
The nurse rushed to help the woman as an emergency landing was not immediately possible, reported Arabic daily Al-Ittihad.
The nurse, who reportedly works with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA, was sleeping in her seat when her husband woke her up and asked her to help the woman.
“I did not hesitate to help the woman even without the necessary medical equipment,” she said.
