GRAND anniversary celebrations marking 15 years of LuLu Hypermarket’s presence in Bahrain was launched yesterday.
The event, which was held at Dana Mall in Sanabis, also saw the launch of LuLu Goodness Week with a slew of offers, and the launch of its exciting ‘own-label’ range of groceries, food, non-food, health and beauty goods as well as ‘Made in Bahrain’ products.
Having begun its foray into the kingdom with its flagship store at Dana Mall, today the group has nine hypermarkets, two malls (Ramli Mall and Dana Mall) and a LuLu Express store in the fast-developing urban residential space of Danat Al Lawzi.
As part of the festivities, LuLu is offering products across the entire spectrum of household goods, such as premium cheeses and delicious processed and ready-to-cook snacks, seasoned snacks like shish tawouk, kubbeh and beef shawarma to meats, deli cuts and a wide variety of special rice grains from around the world.
Shoppers can also look for offers on white goods, electronics and homeware.
Additionally, the hypermarket has added muscle to its tasty and thriving own-label portfolio with a carefully curated range of ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat foods that bring great taste, nutrition and ease of cooking to households.
The trusted LuLu label is also to be seen on health and beauty products, formulated with care for users and on household cleaning products that put hygiene first.
“We are quite excited that we are celebrating 15 years in Bahrain,” LuLu Group director Juzer Rupawala told the GDN.
“It’s been a great journey and we want to thank each and every one of the authorities, leadership, consumers and, most importantly, the vendors for holding our expansion along with their processes and we look forward to such events in the continued years.”
He explained that under ‘Goodness With LuLu’, the hypermarket aims to highlight to its consumers its large range of around 3,000 Private Label products, that are “of the highest quality.
“The best part is that we have certain products that have been made exclusively in Bahrain that we are quite excited to showcase and we are also tying up with more companies to make sure that the LuLu brand associates itself with the Bahrain industry as well.”
The hypermarket is also promoting popular children’s brands for school items, toys, edutainment, children’s healthy eating and grooming products from the Disney and Warner Brothers collection, while the wildly-popular ‘Friends’ and ‘Batman’ TV series lends its name to many cosmetic and household deals.
“This 15th anniversary promotion sees the expansion of LuLu’s amazing own-label brand which is an exciting addition to every shopper’s trolley,” said LuLu Group Private Label director Shamim Sainulabdeen.
“We have a range of brands exclusively for retailing through LuLu outlets.
“The Private Label concept is very popular in Europe and the US and that has been copied in the GCC.
“Likewise, we have set up our department to bring many private label products from all across the world, from leading manufacturers.
“Since we are all over in the GCC, we are able to get a collective bargaining capacity and we are able to get the best rates from the manufacturers.
“So we bring the products and distribute through our outlets in the region. This means that we are able to offer better products at a better price than the national brands,” he explained.
“The winning combination of LuLu’s global marketing platform and the latest food tech and home tech know-how holds amazing promise to make such a range accessible to all.
“Private label products have been growing double digit over the years, and shoppers have understood the quality and value of these products which are on par with international brands,” he concluded.
The 15th anniversary promotions will go on for a period of one month and will be available across all LuLu stores in the kingdom.
