AN expat woman was convicted of assaulting a special needs child and sentenced to three years behind bars yesterday (October 12).
The verdict follows public outcry after a video of the nursery employee slapping the child across the face went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, her accomplice was also sentenced to 12 months behind bars and both women were fined BD100 for working without a legal permit.
They will be deported upon completion of their sentence.
