Al Hidd and Al Hala bagged the last two quarter-final slots of the King Cup tournament after winning their round-of-16 matches yesterday.
At the Khalifa Sports City stadium, Hidd held off last season’s finalists East Riffa 1-0 with the help of Thiago Augusto’s goal in the 37th minute.
Meanwhile, Al Hala defeated Al Tadhamun 2-0 at the Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad. Abdulaziz Khalid and Kevin Yeboah scored for the winners.
Riffa, Al Ahli, Muharraq, Al Najma, Sitra and Manama reached the last-eight stage after winning their round-of-16 matches held earlier in the week.
Al Hidd will face Al Hala in the quarter-finals, scheduled to be held in December. In the other last-eight clashes, Riffa play Muharraq, Al Ahli take on Al Najma and Manama face Sitra.
