A FISHING hook was successfully removed from the right eye of a Bahraini man in a surgery at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
The man, aged in his 30s, was injured during a fishing trip, according to sources.
The surgery team was led by SMC ophthalmic surgeon Dr Hussein Al Hermi and included Dr Hassan Abdel Hadi and Dr Hawra Al Mahrous (from the ophthalmology department), anaesthesiologist Dr Amro Bahr and nursing staff.
The department urged the public to be careful when using sharp objects, to reduce eye injuries and avoid complications resulting from such accidents.
