Riyadh: Investigation revealed that the Saudi woman who slit the throat of her six-year old daughter in Al-Ahsa’a was her stepmother.
According to Almarsd Arabic newspaper, the girl’s father is married to three women who live together in the same house.
A citizen spotted the body of the girl, Reem Al-Rashidi, dumped in a plot of land near her school and alerted the police.
They arrested the woman and referred her to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution.
The killer reportedly went to the Al-Mebraz Primary School, where Reem was a student of grade 1, and asked for the child under the pretense of taking her home.
It was revealed that she then murdered the girl and dumped her body in an open land in the district of Al-Mahasen.
Al-Ahsa’a Education Directorate has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
