A RUMOUR spreading on social media alleging that a private school forbade its students from performing Islamic prayers was misleading, the Education Ministry said in a statement.
After posts circulated on social media about the allegation, the ministry revealed that its private education licensing directorate investigated the matter.
The end of the school day was before noon prayers, the statement read, and students could perform them at home.
The ministry further stated that the school had no prior violations on record in this particular area, adding that it was within the school’s rights to report accusatory or defamatory posts to the authorities.
