Government employees and all pensioners are set to receive their monthly wages and pensions prior to Eid Al Fitr, following orders from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The decision was made during the weekly Cabinet session held at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
The payments are normally deposited in bank accounts on the 26th of each month. However, Eid Al Fitr is expected to be either on April 21 or 22 depending on the moon sighting.
HRH Prince Salman directed that the salaries be paid on Tuesday.
The Cabinet also announced the launch of the initiative, Aspire, designed to support the career development of Bahraini postgraduate degree holders and create quality job opportunities that match their qualifications.
The initiative’s objectives align with the proposal submitted by Parliament in light of a memorandum lodged by the ministerial committee for legal and legislative affairs.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of de-escalating tensions at the Al Aqsa Mosque and providing protection for worshippers. Furthermore, the Cabinet expressed its rejection of all provocative actions that fuel tension and instability, including violence against worshippers, and the use of weapons and explosives inside places of worship.
The session discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the ministerial committee for development and infrastructure projects regarding a draft decision to form a ministerial committee to review the naming of cities, neighbourhoods, villages, suburbs, roads, squares, and intersections.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Interior Minister, chairman of the ministerial committee for information technology and communication, regarding a unified customer service guide, which aims to provide employees across government agencies with basic tools and knowledge to ensure they provide quality services to citizens and residents.
3. A memorandum submitted by the ministerial committee for community services regarding the implementation of the 2023-2027 National Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister regarding the acquisition of real estate for public use to provide spaces for urban development.
