Commuters driving down Interstate 5 in Oregon, USA were surprised to find cash being thrown out of a car ahead of them.
38-year-old Colin Davis McCarthy threw $200,000(BD75,399) out of the window of his car to “bless others with the gift of money”.
His family on the other hand say otherwise.
According to police, McCarthy threw $100 bills out of his window while going down the freeway. Other commuters quickly pulled over to the side of the road to collect as much of the money as possible. One commuter said that they had managed to collect $300 so far.
McCarthy’s family on the other hand say that he did it to drain their joint bank account, and not out of the goodness of his heart.
Although police did not arrest or charge McCarthy, his family has asked anyone who collected the cash on the freeway to return it to the police department.
