A 25-YEAR-OLD Indian pedestrian, who was hit by a car resulting in serious injuries, has finally left the country with the assistance of community workers and his employer.
Veerapandi Subbiah, a store assistant, sustained severe head and leg injuries in a road accident last December, and was receiving treatment at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
“We appreciate SMC for their assistance and the employer who paid all expenses for his trip back home, which also included air fare for the medical escort,” said World Non-Resident Indian Council GCC humanitarian aid director Sudheer Thirunilath.
He added that community workers from Bahrain, including from Annai Tamil Mamdram, and India helped in fast-tracking the case. Mr Subbiah was reunited with his mother in Chennai last Friday.
