BAHRAINI students wishing to study at Japanese universities as ‘research students (postgraduate)’ are being invited to apply for MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship for 2024.
The duration of study is two years, or one-and-a-half years including six months of Japanese language training, according to a statement from the Japanese Embassy in Bahrain.
The scholarship includes travel to and from Japan, tuition and visa fees, and a monthly allowance which also covers accommodation.
To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, the applicant must be a Bahraini citizen, aged below 35 years (born on or after April 2, 1989), and hold an undergraduate degree.
The deadline for submitting the applications is May 18, 2023, with the first screening scheduled to be held in June.

The scholarship programme was set up in 1954 to increase mutual understanding between the people of Japan and other countries as well as to make an international contribution to the intellectual field.
