This week, employees at a bakery in Connecticut had the scare of their lives when a black bear strode into the store and ate 60 cupcakes.
Employees at Taste by Spellbound were loading boxes into a van when the bear came in through the garage door and started grabbing boxes of cupcakes.

Maureen Williams, an employee at the bakery who was in the garage when the bear arrived, said she tried to scare the bear away but she was unsuccessful.
“It turned around, and came toward me,” she told WTNH. “The adrenaline was pumping after that one, for sure.”
The bear managed to eat around 60 cupcakes before employees were able to scare it away using a car horn.
Williams said, “One of our bakers got in their car and drove around the back and found him sitting there eating all of our stuff. (They) honked on the horn quite a bit to get him to go away, and finally he went away.”
Eventually, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection arrived and was able to set up a bear trap using sweets.
Miriam Hope, the owner of the bakery, shared a CCTV video of the bear eating the cupcakes, which has since gone viral.
Hope also took to social media to release a statement assuring her followers that “We all have had a good laugh about it at this point and think the bears are cute.“
