A 50-year-old Kuwaiti man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, chopping up her body into 20 pieces and disposing of the parts at garbage dumps across the country.
The woman had been reported missing by her sister, according to police case file. She had revealed that the victim was previously married to another man, but after separation secretly married the Kuwaiti citizen.
On receiving the complaint, police summoned the 'secret husband' and questioned him. He initially testified that he had not spoken to his wife since last October, which was corroborated by phone records.
However, officers were suspicious of his testimony and kept questioning him. He eventually broke down during intense interrogation and confessed to killing his wife and cutting up the body into 20 pieces.
Police then seized the man’s car and found trace evidence of the woman's blood and hair.
Although officers had asked the man to show them the sites where he had dumped the body, they were unable to locate any of the body parts.
The case is still under investigation.
