The Cabinet has directed authorities to step up inspection campaigns targeting irregular workers across the kingdom’s governorates.
The clampdown was announced yesterday during the weekly session, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
The Cabinet congratulated Bahrain’s pilgrims on their safe return from the Haj pilgrimage.
It commended Saudi Arabia for providing the utmost comfort and care for all pilgrims and congratulated its leadership, government and people on the successful organisation of this year’s season.
The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain being awarded the best Office for Pilgrims’ Affairs, among the three countries that received the highest satisfaction ratings from their pilgrims, as part of the ‘Labbaytum’ Award presented by the Haj and Umrah Ministry of Saudi Arabia.
It commended the efforts made by the Interior Ministry to maintain public security and safety, along with other ministries and government agencies that have provided various services during the Eid Al Adha holidays.
The Cabinet also discussed several memorandums and approved the following:
A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft law amending certain provisions of the decree establishing the General Sports Authority.
A memorandum between the Education Ministry and Samsung Gulf Electronics.
A memorandum between the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Central Bank of Kuwait.
A memorandum regarding a framework between the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, the Abdulla bin Khalid College of Islamic Studies and the CBB’s Waqf Fund.
The Cabinet also reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Shura and Parliament Affairs Minister regarding the work of the first ordinary session of the sixth legislative term.
