Residents of a neighbourhood in Florida, US, were in for a shock when they looked out their windows and spotted a gigantic 14-foot alligator with what appeared to be a human body in its jaws.
The massive alligator was seen in a canal, notorious for having several crocodiles, in the Ridgecrest Park neighbourhood.
JaMarcus Bullard, a resident of Ridgecrest Park, was on his way to a job interview when he spotted the dangerous animal. He immediately took photos and videos of the alligator and rushed to the fire department to report the incident.
The fire department called the police after watching the video.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department, the alligator was ‘humanely killed’ with help from the Florida Fish and Conservation Commission.
After the alligator was removed, divers from the Sherriff’s Department retrieved the remains of the body, which was then sent for a post-mortem procedure.
The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham.
