Riyadh - Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, has condemned the tearing of copies of the Holy Quran by an extremist group in front of several embassies in The Hague, adding that this unacceptable acts would inflame and provoke the feelings of Muslims around the world.
GCC Secretary General reiterated the call to the international community to take urgent and effective international steps to confront these aggressive and provocative practices, which have been repeated recently under the pretext of freedom of expression, without any clear reaction to them.
He stressed the need for the countries where these provocations against Muslims are happening to intervene and to assume their legal and moral responsibilities to end such internationally rejected practices.
