LuLu Group director Juzer Rupawala – India cricket enthusiast and fan has his faith in the nation’s ability to deliver.
“I’m very much looking forward to this day,” said the 51-year-old from Mumbai.
“Who do I think will win and why? India, India … this is one of the best Indian teams with each player in sublime form, performing consistently throughout the tournament. Besides the variety and skillset each player is endowed with makes the ‘Men in Blue’ the obvious favourites!
“That makes it absolutely difficult to choose one name as my favourite player but I’ll go for Rohit Sharma for his ‘spot on’ captaincy.”
India hasn’t lost a single match so far, so what are the chances of the law of averages catching up?
“The law of averages may not apply in real games, it’s not as simple as solving statistics on paper,” he said. “Having won 10 in a row, what can stop them from winning the 11th?
“Playing at home is certainly a huge advantage and encouragement. India just need to be steadfast in their strategy and approach.”
Mr Rupawala travelled to India and watched the semi-final victory and has just returned back to Bahrain.
“I’ll be watching history being made with friends – that is what I plan to do!”
