HORSERACING – His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian works and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) honourary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has directed the distribution of 33 horses as a gift to private stables, in support of their preparations for the 2026-27 endurance horseracing season.
This will contribute to increasing the base of participation and raising the level of competition in endurance events.
The initiative stems from Shaikh Nasser’s vision to elevate the sport of endurance horseracing, which requires high levels of preparation, qualification, and equipment, thereby enhancing their technical readiness and ability to achieve the best results in various competitions.
The support underscores Shaikh Nasser’s belief in the pivotal role of private stables as key partners in sustaining endurance riding, and their accumulated expertise that has contributed to the development and refinement of many Bahraini riders.
Furthermore, providing qualified horses will directly impact the level of national competitions and enhance Bahrain’s presence in Gulf, regional, and international events.
For their part, a number of private stable owners expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to Shaikh Nasser for this generous gesture, stressing that it reflects Shaikh Nasser’s strategic vision in supporting endurance sport and raising the level of competition between riders and stables, which contributes to achieving more accomplishments for the kingdom at all levels.
