The Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones authority announced they had foiled an attempt to smuggle two illegals into the country by concealing them in the car's secret compartment.
The customs authority said they had noticed suspicious objects in the vehicle after scanning it with a high-tech X-ray scanner at one of its terminals.
They discovered that the cars had been professionally equipped with an iron box underneath the car's rear trunk.
The two illegals and the drivers of the car were immediately arrested and transferred to other authorities for further legal proceedings.
A video of the incident was posted by Sharjah Customs on social media showing the X-ray image of the vehicles, along with the moment the two men were finally caught hiding in the cars.
