Riyadh: The Human Capability Initiative (HCI) has unveiled the list of speakers for its forthcoming conference, set to occur on February 28-29, 2024.
This event is under the patronage of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Human Capability Development Programme (HCDP) Committee.
According to Saudi Press Agency (S{A), the conference It will gather industry leaders and experts from diverse sectors to engage in discussions focused on Human Capability Development (HCD), aiming to prepare individuals for the challenges and opportunities of the future, as stated in a press release by HCI.
The release said that HCI is the "first-ever global cooperative platform dedicated to unifying the international efforts and enriching the global dialogue on the challenges and opportunities for developing human capabilities."
Held under the theme 'Future Readiness,' HCI aims to stimulate proactive discussions that address the complex and multifaceted challenges posed by the future of work. It seeks to equip individuals with the essential skills for success while cultivating resilience and adaptability in the contemporary workforce, which faces a continually changing professional environment.
CEO of HCDP Eng. Anas AlMudaifer highlighted HCI's global role in unleashing human capabilities and potential to drive progress and prosperity. Welcoming experts, he emphasised their collective expertise in driving future readiness and sustainable solutions for human capability development. He added, " Through collaborative dialogue, the insights and collaborations born here will ripple outwards, leaving a lasting impact and helping create a better tomorrow for all."
According to the release, the roster of speakers unveiled today comprises government officials and representatives from international organisations, including Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed AlRajhi, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar AlKhorayef, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, Minister of Education Yousef Al Benyan, Regional Director – Human Development, MENA, at the World Bank Dr. Fadia Saadah, Director of Education and Skills at OECD Andreas Schleicher, Future of Learning & Innovation, Education Sector at UNESCO Dr. Sobhi Tawil, Director, CEO of WHO Foundation Anil Soni.
The roster also features private sector and business leaders, such as CEO of AON Gregory Case, Chairman of Rio Tinto & LeapFrog Investments Dominic Barton, Chief Impact Officer of IBM Justina Nixon-Sintil, and President & CEO of Coursera Jeff Maggioncalda.
Academics and intellectuals will also be participating, such as the Dean of Said Business School at the University of Oxford Soumitra Dutta, Founding President of NEOM University Andreas Cangellaris, and EVP & Director of Center for Global Commons at the University of Tokyo Naoko Ishii.
